The project's outcomes are - a vibrant tourism economy, improved sustainability of destinations, resilience to seasonality, effectiveness in spreading economic benefits and an enhanced profile as a preferred tourism destination.

Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy The proposed project builds on these experiences and lesson learned, with interventions directed at three levels: (i) at site-specific locations tourist amenities that create a new tourism experience and positively impact local employment and livelihoods especially for women and girls; (ii) district-level projects that will provide benefits through improved connectivity, stronger industry ecosystems, community initiatives and public sector destination management capacity; and (iii) state-level initiatives with the goal to enhance institutional capacity, improve sector governance and gender responsive sector management.
