Kandahar Solar Power Project: FAST Report

Faster Approach to Small Nonsovereign Transactions | April 2019

The loan will provide long-term financing not available in Afghanistan to build and operate a 15.1-megawatt (MW) solar power plant. The transaction involves (i) a loan of up to $4,000,000 to Barakat Kandahar Solar Energy (BKSE), 77 Insaat ve Taahhut A.S. (77 Turkey), 77 Construction Co., Afghanistan (77 Afghanistan), and 77 Construction USA Corp (77 USA) for the Kandahar Solar Power Project in Afghanistan; and (ii) the administration of a loan of up to $3,850,000 to be provided by the Canadian Climate Fund for Private Sector in Asia II (CFPS II).

This report describes the terms and conditions of a project for consideration for approval by ADB under the Faster Approach to Small Nonsovereign Transactions (FAST) framework.
