The project, to be guaranteed by Fiji, will cover Fiji Airways’ fixed costs during the operational shutdown, and the working capital requirements for a 2021 ramp-up and restoration of its flight services. Since March 2020, the flight operations of Fiji Airways have been severely interrupted by global travel restrictions because of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The project supports Fiji Airways’ effort to sustain its business through this crisis and return to profitable operations.

The report and recommendation of the President to the Board of Directors (RRP) document describes the terms and conditions of a project for consideration and approval by ADB's Board of Directors.
