The additional financing will be used to expand the scope of the project, particularly to help the Greater Chennai Corporation enhance flood retention in the Kadapakkam Lake through ecosystem restoration. It will demonstrate nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation through rejuvenation of the water body, promoting integrated flood risk management to strengthen disaster resilience, mitigate environmental degradation, and enhance biodiversity.
