The project will finance water supply infrastructure investments in four project towns: the state capital of Ranchi, and the economically and socially backward towns of Hussainabad, Jhumri Telaiya, and Medininagar. It will also address capacity and institutional governance issues in the sector for sustainable urban service delivery.

The report and recommendation of the President to the Board of Directors (RRP) document describes the terms and conditions of a project for consideration and approval by ADB's Board of Directors.
