By providing much-needed longer-tenor funding to Shriram Transport Finance Company (STFC), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will ensure financing for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in transport and logistics in India. The project will also help restore supply chains, particularly in agriculture, that were disrupted by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. With gender measures aimed at improving the financial and nonfinancial capacity of STFC to service women borrowers, the project contributes to increasing women’s financial inclusion and boosting their participation in a nontraditional sector of employment.
The report and recommendation of the President to the Board of Directors (RRP) document describes the terms and conditions of a project for consideration and approval by ADB's Board of Directors.
This document dated September 2022 is provided for the ADB project 54365-001 in India.
