Strengthening Food Security Post-COVID-19 and Locust Attacks: Automation of a Spectral Matching Technique for Crop Area Estimation

The Asian Development Bank (ADB), under the knowledge and support technical assistance “Strengthening Food Security Post-COVID-19 and Locust Attacks (TA 6663-PAK),” is working with provincial crop reporting services (CRS) to build their capacity for estimating crop areas using remote sensing technology. The technology demonstrated to provincial CRS staffs employs a spectral matching technique (SMT) for accurate estimation of crop area and production at the provincial level.
