International financing institutions, such as ADB, are promoting nature-based solutions (NBS) to achieve more resilient and sustainable infrastructure projects. Demonstrating the economic rationale can help developing member clients consider NBS options. This report describes the economic rationale of NBS in flood risk management and demonstrates how this can be addressed in a project’s economic analysis, giving stylized cases and recommendations.
