Natural River Management aims at harnessing functions of natural river systems to deliver climate-resilient and high-quality services such as water supply and flood and drought management at a lower cost while minimizing negative environmental and social impacts. Combined approaches, making use of high-level technical expertise to enhance and nourish natural services, such as NRM, in combination with hard engineered infrastructure solutions are gaining ground. The report presents a step-by-step methodological approach to assist ADB project teams in incorporating natural river management approaches into the water sector investments in a systematic manner.
