Innovative financing solutions to build resilience against geophysical shocks are needed to reverse recent and impede future setbacks in poverty reduction. To this end, the focus of this report is the role for Disaster Risk Financing (DRF) solutions targeted at microfinance institutions (MFIs) serving the urban poor in Bangladesh and Indonesia. As will be developed within, the urban poor are most vulnerable to geophysical shocks.
