Enhancing ADB’s Support for Social Protection to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals: Palau - 2018 Social Protection Indicator

In 2018, 11 programs in Palau met the Asian Development Bank definition of social protection. Expenditures for these programs totaled $39.7 million, directly benefitted 26,601 persons, and represented a Social Protection Indicator (SPI) of 10.38%. Social insurance represented 88.91% of total social protection expenditures and benefitted 22,156 persons, followed by social assistance representing 10.64% of expenditures and benefitting 4,104 persons.
