Supporting the Operational Priority 1 Agenda - Strengthening Poverty and Social Analysis: Rapid Needs Assessment of Homeless Population in Ulaanbaatar Consultant's Report
The purpose of the research was to examine the situation of the street homeless population in Ulaanbaatar city, Mongolia. In addition, the research studied the situation of the homeless population living in places not intended for habitation such as apartment building basements and entrance areas and under stairs, despite the lack of legal and policy environment to deal with the issues of this group. The latter group of the research target was requested to be studied by stakeholders during the scoping mission plus this group is considered as homeless according to the international definition of homelessness. This research was the first of its kind exploring the situation and needs of homeless population in Ulaanbaatar (UB) city by bringing together voices of people experiencing homelessness, governmental and non-governmental service providers and policy makers into one place.
