An Analysis of the Worldwide Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic: What and How Much?

This paper analyzes actions and financial packages implemented to combat the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic by ADB’s 68 members, the European Central Bank, and the European Union.

Using the ADB COVID-19 Policy Database, the paper details the measures taken and amounts announced between 20 April and 15 June. It compares responses in five Asian economies and includes a statistical analysis on what affects the size of financial packages.
