This brief discusses civil society development in Armenia founded by the resilience and commitment of citizens and strengthened by the active involvement of civil society organizations in economic, institutional, and policy reforms.
The role of the civil society in Armenia has been growing, especially in terms of contributing to reforms, human rights protection, civic education, the fight against corruption, and identifying other issues in the country. The Government of Armenia has also established legal and regulatory frameworks to support and collaborate with civil society organizations while also engaging with international development partners. ADB cooperates with civil society in Armenia around policy development and review, country programming, and project cycle including planning and implementation.
