Empowering the Vulnerable in Tonga: A Success Story on Social Protection Services

This publication draws on the positive impact of a social protection program in Tonga that caters to the essential needs of vulnerable families and people, stemming from collaborative efforts of governments and civil society organizations.

The Early Intervention Program is one of the first formal social protections initiatives in Tonga. Funded through the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction, it is part of ADB’s project called Social Protection of the Vulnerable in the Pacific. The program is a form of intervention that integrates with the community to provide more comprehensive support to those in need.
