A Future Within Reach: Reshaping Institutions in a Region of Disparities to meet the Millennium Development Goals
Comparing the performance of countries across the region can reveal how and why some are performing better, while others have stalled or are slipping backwards—and also indicate the institutional changes needed to get back on track.
This is the second in a series of regional reports on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), but the first report prepared under the auspices of the ADB, UNESCAP and UNDP partnership. (The first report entitled Promoting the Millennium Development Goals in Asia and Pacific: Meeting the Challenges of Poverty Reduction was published by ESCAP and UNDP in 2003.)
This report presents a much fuller picture of MDG progress using more data than were previously available. It adds to earlier analysis of national policies and institutions to accelerate MDG progress by focusing on international cooperation among countries in the region.
See MDG Progress Reports for Asia and the Pacific on UNDP's website.
