The brief shares lessons from the experience of ADB and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in developing and piloting two freely accessible MOOCs on CAPI. CAPI involves the use of tablets or mobile phones to collect survey data and it can improve the quality and timeliness of data collection. The courses covered two free CAPI software packages, Survey Solutions and the Census and Survey Processing System (CSPro), which are widely used by national statistics offices. The cost-effective courses generated high completion rates.
