This brochure summarizes an eco-revitalization master plan for the River Ravi in Pakistan, which aims to address decades of deterioration due to inadequate management, rapid urbanization, and severe pollution.

The River Ravi supports the livelihoods of millions of urban and rural people in Punjab, but is 400% below the minimum quality to sustain aquatic life and poses high water-borne disease risks. The master plan provides pragmatic nature-based solutions to maximize the river’s social, economic, and ecological co-benefits. Implementation of the plan would secure a natural capital value of $8 billion to $18 billion, far exceeding investment and operational costs.
