This brochure outlines why the Regional Flyway Initiative seeks to invest $3 billion in biodiverse wetlands across 10 Asia and Pacific countries to scale up climate change mitigation and adaptation and restore vulnerable ecosystems.

It illustrates how the vast East Asian–Australasian Flyway’s wetlands support over 50 million migratory birds and provide nearly 200 million people with valuable ecosystem services. Highlighting how wetlands protect coasts and act as powerful carbon sinks, it shows how investment from governments, donors, and the private sector can help reduce habitat loss, combat climate change, and boost coastal resilience.
