Publication | December 2016
The power plant provides baseload power generation and has significantly improved reliability of power generation for Samoa Electric Power Corporation's (EPC) 35,000 residential, commercial, and government customers.
The project constructed a 23-megawatt diesel power plant for the main Upolu grid. The powerplant was commissioned in 2013 by the Samoa EPC. The Fiaga powerplant currently generates 85 million kilowatts per hour annually, which is 65% of the national power generation for Samoa.
The project was supported through the Power Sector Expansion Project, which is a $100 million project to support rehabilitation and expansion of the Samoa power sector by the Samoa EPC.
