Asian Development Bank and Turkmenistan: Fact Sheet

The ADB program in Turkmenistan has provided loans, grants and technical assistance to grow the country’s economy and improve the lives of people, particularly the poor, women, children and other vulnerable groups.

ADB has approved $125 million in lending since it began working with Turkmenistan in 2000.

Given Turkmenistan’s vast energy resources and strategic location, ADB operations focus on enhancements to the country’s transport and energy sectors, with infrastructure projects fostering regional cooperation.  ADB will also support projects to promote private sector development, knowledge sharing, and capacity building.

Updated yearly, this ADB Fact Sheet provides social and economic indicators on Turkmenistan as well as concise information on ADB's operations in the country and contact information.
