Description
Thailand's Bang Pakong river basin serves a number of communities competing for its water. The Bang Pakong Dialogue Initiative, a PDA completed in 2006, brought integrated water resources management to Bang Pakong by opening a dialogue among stakeholders and creating an effective river basin organization.
This after-care PDA will analyze all components of water allocation in consultation with existing and new stakeholders. The River Basin Committee, established during the 2006 consultations, will take the lead in stimulating participation of concerned stakeholders in formulating a detailed policy, plan, and manual for effective water allocation.
Expected outcome
- A guideline and manual for water allocation
