    Samoa: Building a More Resilient Economy

    'Rouena Mulipola, a seamstress who works from home is able to manage her electricity payments as a result of the Power Sector Expansion Project supported and funded by ADB.' Known as a reform-oriented country in the Pacific region, Samoa has achieved significant development gains through ADB support in education, infrastructure, and other public and private sectors. From 1966 through the end of 2009, Samoa received a total of $238 million from ADB in the form of loans, grants, and technical assistance.

    Mongolia: A Partnership Against Poverty

    ADB was one of the first international finance organizations to enter Mongolia when it embraced democracy in the early 1990s, and it is credited with being one of the pioneering development organizations that helped the country through this difficult transition. Today it is by far Mongolia's largest multilateral partner, with an ongoing loan and grant portfolio of more than $300 million. The recent country assistance program evaluation report on ADB's assistance in Mongolia rated the institution's work as successful.
