  • 9 November 2015 ADB supports 150mw wind farm project in the Philippines

    ADB signed a financing agreement of up to $20 million to support the largest wind farm project in the Philippines. The wind farm, developed by Energy Development Corporation, paved the way for renewable energy development projects in the country aimed at helping the Philippine government achieve energy sustainability, security, and diversification.   • 22 October 2015 ADB and Bai Tushum Bank sign $10 million loan for MSMEs in Kyrgyz Republic

    ADB and Bai Tushum Bank (BTB) have signed an agreement for a $10 million loan to help boost micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Kyrgyz Republic.The loan, along with technical assistance to develop mobile banking products, will give a significant lift to this vital sector of the economy and help opening up new opportunities for small businesses in isolated communities to access financial services using mobile phones. The agreement was signed by ADB's Kyrgyz Resident Mission Country Director Rie Hiraoka and Gulnara Shamshieva, General Manager of BTB. Read the news release

  • 6 October 2015 ADB Trade Finance Program and CB Bank to support Myanmar trade

    ADB's Trade Finance Program (TFP) and Cooperative Bank (CB Bank) signed an agreement that enables the TFP to provide guarantees of up to $12 million per annum in support of the trade finance operations of CB Bank. This marks the first such ADB TFP facility to assist trade finance capacity for a local bank in Myanmar. Read the news release

  • 25 September 2015 ADB wastewater reuse project in People’s Republic of China wins Deal of the Year 2015

    The Wastewater Treatment and Reuse Project, an ADB project co-financed with 13 commercial banks from Australia, People's Republic of China, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, and the Netherlands, won the Project Finance of the Year 2015 from China Law & Practice Award. The project treats 600 million tons of wastewater annually to meet the grade 1A standard, which can be reused for industry cooling and urban environment purposes.

  • 17 September 2015 ADB’s client, Simpa Networks, gets Climate Solver award by WWF

    ADB’s client, Simpa Networks, which offers a simple and affordable off-grid, pay-as-you-go solar energy for underserved consumers in India, was awarded the prestigious Climate Solver award by WWF India. In 2013, ADB made a $2 million equity investment to allow the company to provide better access to electricity to more than 60,000 households in rural India by 2015.
