16 August 2016 Project procurement-related review for India rail project

India's Urban Development and Housing Department, Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation, and ADB's Office of Anticorruption and Integrity commenced a project procurement-related review (PPRR) for the Jaipur Metro Rail Line 1-Phase B Project on 16 August in Jaipur. The PPRR focuses on procurement, financial management, and asset inspection to ensure that ADB's funds are used for their intended purposes and targeted beneficiaries.

16 June 2016 OAI and KYRM collaborate to combat fraud and corruption

ADB's Kyrgyz Resident Mission on 16 June hosted a briefing on ADB's Anticorruption Policy and integrity due diligence in Bishkek. Staff also discussed relevant findings from an investigation of a project in the Kyrgyz Republic. The collaboration aims to raise awareness of potential integrity violations in ADB-financed projects and improve due diligence skills.

14 June 2016 OAI, NIB, NDF and NEFCO share learnings on conducting procurement reviews and due diligence

The Office of Anticoruption and Integrity (OAI) held a sharing session with representatives of Nordic Development Fund (NDF), Nordic Investment Bank (NIB), and Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) on conducting project procurement reviews and integrity due diligence. This session was a follow through of an ADB and NDF cooperation agreement, which was signed in 2014. As part of the collaboration, NDF officials joined OAI in conducting a Project Procurement Related Review (PPRR) of a joint ADB-NDF project in Cambodia last year. Read more.

14 June 2016 ADB holds anticorruption seminars in the Kyrgyz Republic

Over 90 representatives from various government agencies, private sector groups, civil society organizations, and graduate students from the Governance Academy in Bishkek on 14-17 June participated in a series of anticorruption seminars on ADB's Anticorruption Policy, and identifying and preventing fraud and corruption.

6 June 2016 New look for ADB's sanctions list

The Anticorruption Sanctions List page has been updated. The enhanced design now allows users to sign up, log in and browse other features with ease. Sanctioned entities are ineligible to participate in any ADB-financed, -administered, or - supported activity. Executing and implementing agencies officially involved in ADB projects are encouraged to apply for access online.

7 April 2016 ADB conducts anticorruption seminars in Viet Nam

OAI conducted seven anticorruption seminars for 212 representatives of the executing and implementing agencies, project management units, contractors, consultants, and NGOs in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam  on 28 March – 7 April 2016. The participants learned skills to prevent corruption and fraud, and increased understanding on ADB’s Anticorruption Policy. 

2 March 2016 Bhutan’s Anti-corruption Commission, ADB host seminars

ADB's Office of Anticorruption and Integrity organized anticorruption seminars on 2-4 March 2016 in Thimphu, Bhutan. About 70 participants from executing/implementing agencies, civil society organizations, and private sector attended to enhance their knowledge of ADB's Anticorruption Policy and their skills in preventing and detecting corruption. Bhutan's Anticorruption Commission shared an investigation of an ADB project, and ADB Technical Advisor for Governance Gambhir Bhatta presented Bhutan's good governance efforts.

11 February 2016 Can corruption be tackled? Making the case for good governance

Many developing member countries persistently score low in Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index. With weak governance and public sector institutions, there are risks to development effectiveness of ADB's investments. Technical Advisor for Governance Gambhir Bhatta, Office of Anticorruption and Integrity Head Clare Wee, and Integrity Specialist Cholpon Mambetova, shared how ADB can employ practical solutions to tackle corruption, not only at the country level but also at the project level. 9 December 2015 President Nakao leads ADB’s continuing fight against corruption

ADB staff joined the President in commemorating International Anti-corruption Day on 9 December at ADB headquarters in Manila. President Nakao in his remarks pledged to continue to ensure that ADB’s resources are used for their intended purpose. Keynote speakers Raul Pangalangan, an International Criminal Court judge; and Aruna Roy, Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan's co-founder, delivered speeches on good governance, the right to information, and anti-corruption. 14 September 2015 ADB holds Forensic Accounting Workshop in Sri Lanka

A total of 68 representatives from Sri Lanka's Supreme Audit Institution, investigative bodies, and private auditing firms attended the workshop organized by ADB's Office of Anticorruption and Integrity (OAI) on 14-15 September in Colombo.
